SARS-CoV-2 mutations give rise to new variants, and each one seems scarier that the last. The mutated variant Delta from earlier in 2021 was supposed to be the worst, but now Omicron, emerging in late 2021,is even more scary, with its apparent increase in infectivity and ability to dodge antibodies.
